In an effort to strengthen my branding skills, I went in a direction I would not usually take while creating this brand and catalog. I wanted to go for something that felt darker yet displayed my skills appropriately. Thus, Blackbird Vinyl Co. was born. In this catalog, my inspiration for the brand comes from The Beatles song “Blackbird.” However, its logomark takes a slightly different turn with the plague doctor character as the mascot. Inside, I used my skills in photography to photograph my father and I’s vinyl collection and displayed it in a catalog format. The catalog is broken down by genre, featuring 5 or more vinyls from that collection. Each vinyl listed gets its own description and tracklist to teach the viewer what each album entails. The brand also features a tradeshow booth for potential vinyl sales to their “new and returning customers.”
